Horus-eye (or the Egyptian "wedjat") literally means healthy (healing) purposes. The eye of the falcon god Horus is depicted as a human eye, beneath a simplified representation of the black feathers that the bird under his eye. 

The Horus-eye has many meanings but is primarily a beloved symbol used in the recovery of illness and discomfort. The origin lies in an Egyptian myth. This tells of a battle in which Seth march out and rips asunder the eye of Horus. Thoth the moon god but heals him. Hence the eye is the symbol of recovery.
