Mehalabiya is one of the most tasteful traditional Egyptian desserts, very refreshing and easy to make!
Ingredients:
- 1 liter half full milk
- 6 tablespoons of sugar
- 5 tablespoons starch powder (maïzena)
- 1 tablespoon rose water
- Grated coconut, nuts (optional)
- Cinnamon (optional)
Preparation time: 30 min
Preparation:
Dissolve the maïzena in the milk and sugar in a low-fire saucepan.
Add the rose water and keep stirring until it boils and thickens.
Then pour into a dish and refrigerate, add the cinnamon, the coconut and other nuts!
Variation tips:
- Full milk for more creamy taste
- Add 1 tablespoon custard
